MEANING OF CHRISTIANS FELLOWSHIP

Christians Fellowship means company, family, society or companionship. It’s an association of people who share belief or activities; it’s a state of being with someone.

Christians fellowship is the Christ family, Christians society or Christ company. It’s coming together of people who believe in Christ Jesus as the son of God and their lord and savior in a particular place at a stipulated time to worship the lord. It’s the association of those who see Christ as their father and only one that is worthy of imitating.

Some in general public refer to this sets of people (Christians fellowship) as S.U means Saint Union while others refer to them as Christians because they behave like Christ. Christians fellowship is gathering of Christ followers who refer to themselves as brethren.

 

WHAT DOES CHRISTIANS FELLOWSHIP ENTAIL?

1. Christians fellowship entails sharing all things (act 4:32)(act 2:44-45)

2. Christians fellowship entails laying down their lives (romans 16:3-4)

3. Christians fellowship entail devoted to serving the brethren (1cor 16:15)

4. Christians fellowship entails being a channel of blessing to other in need (2cor 8:14)(1cor 16:17)

5. Christians fellowship entails sharing other suffering (phil4:14)

6. Christians fellowship entails Sacrificial giving (2cor 8:2-3)

7. Christians fellowship entails Practicing hospitality (Hebrews 13:2)

8. Christians fellowship entails Building up and encourage one another (1the 2:8)(2tim 3:10-14)

 

PURPOSE OF CHRISTIANS FELLOWSHIP

Abuse is inevitable If the purpose is not known Christians fellowship are not just form but established on some certain purpose which will be highlighted below. Here are the three main purpose of Christians fellowship

 

1. To encourage and grows believers in Christ

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; that is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. (Romans 1:11-12)

 

2. To make the world know that Christ was sent by God

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me (John 17:22-23)

 

3. To bring non-believers to Christ

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20)

 

CONDITION FOR CHRISTIANS FELLOWSHIP

1. The brethren in Christians fellowship must be born in Christ (Acts 3:19)

2. Christians fellowship must base on agape (john 13:34)

3. Christians fellowship must be centre on Christ Jesus

4. Christians fellowship must have interest in others well-being

5. The brethren of Christians fellowship must walk in the light (1joh 1:6-7)

 

 HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF CHRISTIANS FELLOWSHIP
 

1. You must BELIEVE AND ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John3:16)

 

2. You must REPENT FROM YOUR SINS.

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: (Acts 3:19)

 

3. Look for a BIBLICAL WORSHIP CENTRE around you and enroll in BAPTISM CLASS to be baptize with WATER AND HOLY SPIRIT.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: (Matthew 3:11)

 

4. You must OBEY THE LORD COMMANDMENT.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. (1John 3:22-24)

 

5. You must STAND FIRM AND REGULARLY EXAMINE YOURSELF TO AVOID BACKSLIDING. 

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (2corinthians 13:5)

 

6. You must BE A MAN OF PRAYER.

Pray without ceasing. (1thessalonian 5:17), For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; (Colossians 1:9)

 

CONCLUSION.

Christians fellowship is the coming together of Christ the shepherd and ships the brethren. Jesus said in the book of John 10;14, I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. May the lord help us to know Him more, Amen.
