Obedience to God instructions in fulfilling destiny
Text: Gen: 20 vs 17-18
Ernest AgyemangYeboah says
"there is just one true God and He is the giver of life! We have just on
lifetime chance to live life. Let us therefore devote our one lifetime to His service,
in truth and in spirit, loving Him fully with our lips, mind and heart, no
matter what, knowing that regardless of who we are, when death ends our journey
of life, we remain accountable to the giver of life"
Before moving to today's
topic, let me ask u dis question and answer it in ur heart.... Do you obey
God's instructions?
God has created every
individual to fulfil a specific purpose in life. God knows what that purpose is
and how we can achieve it but we often make choices based on our perceived
priorities that are contrary to God’s will. That why He told us in the book
of Jeremiah 29:11 saying "for I
know the thought I have for you says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare
and peace and not of evil, to give you hope in your final outcome
Adam and Eve disobeyed God
and they made the choice to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and
evil.
Their choice affected not only their own lives
but also affected us
Our priorities in life
dictate our choices and our choices determine the outcome of our lives.
Our choices are often between alternatives
that appear equally attractive but lead to entirely different results.
The Bible make us to
understand that there is a way that seems right to a man but its end is the way
of death” Prov. 14:12
God’s call is an invitation
to freedom,to fulfill destiny by obeying His instructions. His call is to free
us from slavery to Satan, sin and death.
God does not want anyone to perish but that all
should come to repentance, 2 Pet. 3:9
The instructions of God is
often resisted by opposing forces trying to keep man in his sinful condition
. An effective weapon of the
enemy is to promote an attitude of trusting in one’s self. Trusting in one’s
self will always lead to disobeying God. It is trusting in self that makes many
people not to believe God and still believe they have to do something to
deserve salvation.
God’s call is not only to
free us from slavery but also to bless us with His presence.
God created us to worship
Him and since He is holy His call makes provision to make us holy and righteous.
The righteousness of God is one that has never known sin before. God’s
righteousness restores our Godly image and the authority and dominion that
Satan stole from man.
The attitude of the world is
to do what they like without being held accountable and they believe this is
possible by rejecting God. An attitude of rejection leaves no room for
acknowledging sin and seeing the need for repentance.
Another weapon of the enemy
is to promote an attitude of indifference. The enemy very subtly instils pride
into a person making him think that he is deserving of God’s invitation.
Pride makes us so busy
impressing the world that we become indifferent to God.
The enemy is an expert at
promoting an attitude of rejection. He just has to convince a person of what
they are capable of doing when they are in control of their own lives.
In Bible times a king
hosting a feast also supplied the garments to be worn. To show up wearing
something else is either to say that the occasion was not important enough or
that you considered what you were wearing to be good enough.
This of course would be an
insult to the host and would immediately be noticed.
How can you fail to notice
someone wearing something different at a very exclusive party ?
It is a picture of boasting
about our ‘good works’ and appearing before God clothed in the filthy rags of
our own righteousness. God went to great lengths to cover us with the perfection
of His Son, His righteousness.
Jesus died our death that we
might have His life. We cannot honour the Lord’s invitation dressed in anything
other than what Christ has provided. Have you been clothed with the
righteousness of Christ?
In order to fulfill destiny in life we all have
to obey God's instructions, because He is the author and He knows all. When we
obey His instructions, that is when He will direct us to the right path of
destiny fulfillment.
Prov. 3:1
my son, forget not my law or teaching but let our heart keep my
commandment
A lot of people want to
fulfill destiny but do not want to submit to God’s terms. They forget the
destiny maker God
How to fulfill purpose in life
1. We must accept Jesus as our
Lord and savior
2. We must flee from sin
3. We must seek God first
(Matt. 6:33)
4. We must love God
passionately (Deuteronomy 6:5)
5. We must keep good
association that will always motivate u in obeying God instructions
6. We must b patient when
obeying His instructions
7. We must have faith and
also believe in God in destiny fulfillment (James 2:23)
8.we must have the spirit of
obedient,we must learn how to always obey God's instructions no matter how hard
it is.genesis 28 vs 1 ff
God is never a failure and
He can never b....all we to do is to obey Him and walk with Him wholeheartedly.
The journey of life is never smooth but with you walking with God and obeying
Him, you will surely get to your promise Land through Him leading you a right
In conclusion
let us be
obedient to God's instruction in fulfilling destiny because many people are not
concerned about their eternal destiny and are laughing and playing games in His
presence. Let us be obedient so that we can confidently say "as He is so
also are we in this world" 1 John 4:17b. May the Lord bless His word.
