lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to
him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and
rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was
calm. And he said unto them, where is your faith? And they being afraid

thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. And

her, let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the
children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto
him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs. And
he said unto her, for this saying goes thy way; the devil is gone out of thy

besought him instantly, saying, that he was worthy for whom he should do this:
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. Then Jesus went
with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent
friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy
that thou shouldest enter under my roof: Wherefore neither thought I myself
worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say
unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my
servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled

weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the
spirit, and was troubled, and said, where have ye laid him? They said unto him,
Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind,
have caused that even this man should not have died? Jesus therefore again
groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon
it. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was
dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead
four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest
believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone
from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said,
Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me
always: but because of the people which stand by I said [it,] that they may
believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a
loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand
and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus

32 Miracles of Jesus - Resurrection
of Jesus Christ from death
In the end of the
sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary
Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a
great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and
rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like
lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did
shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women,
Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not
here: for he is risen, as he said. Come; see the place where the Lord lay. And
go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold,
he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did
run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples,
behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet,
and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my
brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. (Matthew
